Once upon a time, about 15ish years ago, I felt like I was losing interest in video games. In December of 2009, I got a new computer just in time for the winter steam sale that year. A side effect of the sale, I also became aware, for the first time, of the thriving indie game scene that existed outside Steam. Early 2010, I found many indie games that changed how I saw video games in general, three of which have stayed with me throughout the years: ...But That Was [Yesterday] by OneMrBean, Digital: A Love Story by Christine Love, and A House in California by Cardboard Computer/Jake Elliot. I fell back in love with video games because of these games, that changed my life.
And then later that year I fell in love with roguelikes, a few years before the big rougelike/roguelite/rougelike-like. Which I say because it's important to like something before it's super popular </hipster>.
I have a desire to make games, and even some programming knowledge. I also have the attention span of .. a short attention span. But I shall keep trying.
